I wonder about all the N900 complaints sometimes and then I see shots like this and I get it. My camera takes pictures closer to the last shot there but arguably better. There is probably a lot of faulty devices out there.

my n900 camera sucks in low light. it has a white haze and pour contrast, worse than you first to photos. in bright light i the camera is good.

please can you also test the front camera. I've heard they vary with hardware revisions perhaps it's the same with the back.

My front camera is horrible.
The back on pr 1.1.1 (may be) good, after Pr.1.2 update not very

I've also noticed the quality of photos dramatically reduced since installing/reflashing PR1.2. When I first got the device, I took some amazing shots of the Forth Road Bridges with great clarity and vibrant colours. Now everything seems to be shot from behind a veil. I played around with some of the settings like exposure, resolution etc, but nothing seems to get it back to the quality it once was

hm, i've just tested mine setting the flash to always on and taking a pic of somthing black and it does get the white haze, i tried doing it without the back cover but it kept triggering the dashboard (i use shortcutd) if necessary i'll go disable it, but i don't think it will matter, there is no cover over the camera (with the lens cover open), it's a hole, nothing to reflect the flash there

edit: taking a pic of a indoor scene with white walls and other colored objects still has the white haze, so it wasn't just the black thing reflecting the flash

You're letting your imagination run wild. It looks like a clothes hanger to me. Or were you referring to the bottles of water
