This app has said there is an update available ever since PR1.2 came out but it won't install for me. I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, reflashed my phone twice for various reasons, and disabled/enabled different repositories....

Edit /var/lib/dpkg/info/account-plugin-salut.postinst and comment out (add a # to the start of the line) this line

Thanks, this worked perfectly, I'm guessing since this is a post install file that it won't matter whether or not it's uncommented out again?

why not install pidgin protocols and plugin for conversations and contacts, is there any difference?
