Once your music library is uploaded, Flash Player is not required. Connection to your home PC/Server is not required. Check out the video for MediaMaster on Facebook:
Not even close.
Trying to use MediaMaster's player via their site or facebook is so processor-intensive my 770 reboots.
A real solution to this is a remote smb or cifs mount that you could then use as if they were local files. Now, just to find some site willing to give out free samba share storage space (and bandwidth)
edit: and the part about listening via the default media player is totally untrue.
I'd suggest checking out mp3tunes.com and their free, unlimited hosting that's accessible via a 'mobile' interface at http://mp3tunes.com/m. This hands you .m3u files that the default media player will open.

sshfs (fuse) and a machine at home running SSHd.
I was able to play MP3s over a wifi connection pulling the file up over an SSHFS mount - it stuttered once or twice.
Part of me suspects that the overhead of encrypting the connection taxes the 770 a bit too much.
yep, i can only get 120K/s or so in ssh/scp over an 802.11g LAN connection.
That's about my throughput locally on my 802.11g network.
~450kbps using ftp.
Maybe it's time to look into dumbing down my SSH settings and using a smaller key / faster / less secure algorithm and see if I can make sshfs reasonably fast.
I have successfully streamed live audio from a PC at home (capturing audio from digital satellite) to my handheld at work over public internet. However, I didn't use ssh, I just opened a temporary hole in my (linux) firewall to allow the tcp connection.
OK, so you might not want to leave a port open to your shoutcast/icecast server to the world, nor know your mobile IP address in advance, so take a look at "port knocking" as one technique to allow you to keep your home system totally hidden but reveal itself when you send the magic knock - I use the "barricade" ping tool.
For me, the best solution is Slim Server. I can access all of my songs and playlists remotely and streaming works well with the Nokia (even via cell phone).
