    This N900 drives me crazy!
I am an English learner, Word completion and Auto-capitalization are very important and convenient to me.
I have checked Word completion and Auto-capitalization in the Text input setting, but still doesn't do any help.
To make sure, I tried a couple of times, check them out, restart, then check them again, restart, It just doesn't work at all.
    Any help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do I have to restore it to factory setting.

Can you be more specific about what you are seeing?

With the settings as you describe you should see the following when you start a new SMS message:

    Type the following 4 letters, h - e- l - l
You should see that the h is capitalized and that auto complete suggests Hellenic.

    What do you see?

    Well that is strange.

When you open up Settings / Text Input and scroll down to 1st language and Dictionary, what do you see for each of these fields?

EDIT: Sorry youve just answered me

Was this working for you before?

It worked fine before I updated the system. You know, before updated, the main menu doesn't have the scrolling function, have to get in another scree to see additional programs. Now you can just scroll down and see all the programs.
So I am thinking if this is the cause? Maybe I should get back to the way before?

Well I am using PR 1.2 and this is working fine for me. From what you say though it seems that it stopped working as soon as you updated. That sounds suspicious.

If you want to reflash here are the instructions.

I am also having this problem. I just figured it out.
got to text input settings and do as follows :

Hardware keyboard layout = English, Nederlands
Use virtual keyboard = if u need it.
    Word completion = Checked
    Auto-capitalisation = Checked
Insert space after word = Checked
1st language = English (USA) Dictionary = English (USA)
2nd language = English (UK) Dictionary = English (UK)
    Use dual dictionaries = Checked

You r done (Well, at least in my case it worked)
