ive tried encoding to a higher volume level but its always quiet regardless, 'nokia hands' seems to have a good volume so its probs the codec, someone who knows about that could figure it out, but thats not me unfortunately!

Hey Leetut, try the videos that I have uploaded. I encode the audio at
BitRate: 320K
Codec: MP3
Frequency: 48000Hz
Additionally, I made sure to increase the sound using Sony Vegas to an additional 8dB and while recoding for N900, an additional increase to 150% using Xilisoft so that it is just clear to hear. I know its quiet loud if u hear it on ur PC, but on your N900, its just half of that...
Edit: I will see what codec nokia has used and get back as soon as possible. Maybe this way we can make more better sounding videos... I just hope it aint AAC as it reduces the crisp sound effects

Streams
Video: 00:00:04.500, 24.000 fps, 800x480x24, h.264 AVI
Audio: 00:00:04.488, 241 kBit/s, 48,000 Hz, Stereo, MPEG Layer-3 (mp3)
So I was right in making the frequency 48000 Hz. Hope this helps.

Fareed .. i've already tried to use the same settings of the video "Nokia hands" ... even the frequency ... but nohing change .. T_T
I've even tried to amplify the volume through the encoder (Any Video converter in my case) .. but the result isn't good enought .. T_T
Expecially the low frequencies which are very common in my wonderful video of the flames ..
PS :leetut so cant' you reupload my video ?
Also if you still have it, otherwise do not worry.

I dont think Audio is a lost cause. Check the following video...
Using bootscreen manager, make sure to select both the videos to play during startup (hands and test)... U'll notice the loudness urself... Moreover audio converters like Xilisoft etc, do make a job of increasing the volume compromising on quality, But Sony Vegas doesnt allow that to happen if u increase it up. (You must know when to stop though:P)
Check it and give me a lil update on it...Who knows, maybe this can be the next breakthrough in audio of N900 ...
Edit:
Note:If you have any video that u would like to test, then u may give me a link or mailit to me... Maybe I can try re-rendering it to upscale the audio if the above comment I posted turns out to be a useful and as per what u wished for.
