"I have only had my N800 for a couple of weeks and I did my first update of it today, now I am running into a few problems."
I am, like you, new to the platform and if I had known the update was going to be so problematic, I wouldn't have done it. Unlike you, I flashed with Flasher from a Mac.
It has taken me about four hours to get the machine up and running again and there were lib files that the installer stopped complaining about only once I installed mysql - or was it Maemo mapper ?
I can't get Aisleriot to run. Among other things, the installer asks for a help page in English. I went to the site and found the missing file but clicking on it merely brought me back to the installer and the app itself, not the file. Very frustrating.
I wish were geek enough to know how to install files without going through the installer.

I installed WordPy after reading your message with no problem. I have the Python 5 runtime installed, and I did find libffi4 after going into Red Pill mode. Did you uninstall Python 4? I would.
Did you try the suggestions on this page: http://maemo-wordpy.garage.maemo.org/
?
I am trying to reinstall some of the applications that I had previously installed and on many I am getting an error that the libffi4 package is missing (python, maemo wordpress py).
I am not sure about how to install the missing package and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
