hmm..if in the output of ps | grep obex is standing
/usr/lib/obex/obexd --debug --nodaemon--....
then it is restarted, is that right?
i switched off my mobil and started it again...
or what else should i do to restart obexd?
Hi!
Today i gave it a try again with my clarion device.
Logfiles again attached.
I tried the sdptool browse xy:xy:xy:xy:xy
but i got no output, just "..." and nothing happend then.
The BT adress was okay!
Please, is there any change to get my clarion device work with my N900? manual says its compatible with PBAP...
hi,
just installed on my n900, connects to vauxhall Insignia. phonebook ok but call log has same random contact in all 3 lists (missed, dialed, received). as make calls etc, call log reflects actual calls made, until i switch off. that said, i was like a kid in a candy shop, works almost as well as my e90 did before they refused to repair it anymore.
Im sorry drnorton, but still there is still no obex phonebook transfer invocation from your clarion. Maybe the term 'pbap' is misleading as it does not really initiate it. Again it only tries the bluetooth low level phonebook access (using AT+CPBS commands), but this is not implemented in te bluez stack.
You could go back to your dealer and ask for more specific info about your clarion (or google for it)
I am having difficulties getting this fix to work. I am applying it to 2006 BMW E92 Nav Pro System that may cause trouble.
However, I have observed a different problem. It seems as the fix is not taking effect on the phone. Upon calling
apt-cache show obexd
i get the version: 0.18-0maemo5+0m5. But this is the original version, NOT the mod containing the fix. The latter should be 0.30 and my phone should be supposed to show that one, right?
Same with libopenobex1. The version showed after applying the fix is: 1.4-0maemo3-0m5 instead of 1.5.
I performed all upgrades and downgrades as root using the gainroot plugin.
the new deb files are obexd2 and ibopenobex2 so they can be installed next to obexd and libopenobex1 to avoid application manager problems.
That explains it!
EDIT: I just came back from a BMW dealer that conducted a succesful test of a 2009 in-car entertainment system. Thus, my deprecated system does not support this particular PBAP fix for some reason. May need an update.
Success to report, I finally got around to trying this on my Kenwood HD942U with the KCA-BT200 bluetooth module and it appears to work perfectly. Incoming caller ID works, address book lookup. The manual makes some reference to downloading SMS'es over bluetooth, gotta figure out how to try that.
I am trying to downgrade to the original state but I have tried all the options on wiki and it just doesn't want to know. It just keeps saying about the unmet the dependancies due to the upgraded obex stuff.
Any ideas how I can successfully downgrade? I really want to install the new deb stuff as it has been updated since the original manual install.
