I am having the same error. A little deeper look into the terminal, showed me that it is a segmentation fault.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Like Marcus and olympus, when I start ARAPP, it crashes immediately. Sadly, I lack the linux skills to do any real troubleshooting....
I ran into the segfault, too. To get around it, I used sudo gainroot (requires rootsh) and then cd /opt/arapp then ./arapp to run the app as root. This launched it successfully for me.
Great app, really amazing; I'd love to be able to make my own models.
One negative thing, nothing to do with arapp, but lfocus popping up constantly in yet another application and crashing it.
As much as I use lfocus (for red LED disabling) I'm just going to have to remove it until it is fixed.
Apparently, there's something that has to be set up with root permissions the first time it runs. Once it has however, it just works from the normal icon from that point forward!
Now if I could only figure out how to lighten up the image a bit...
