Can you give some more details on what errors you get and which step is causing problems???

    Thanks for the reply, ok...

    Step 1 completed no problems.

    Step 2. I get:

    Root shell enabled

    BusyBox v1.10.2 (Debian 3:1.10.2.legal-1osso30+0m5) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

    /home/user # apt-get remove openobex-apps
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
mp-fremantle-205-pr: Depends: obexd (= 0.18-0maemo5+0m5) but 0.28-0maemo3 is to be installed
Depends: libopenobex1 (= 1.4-0maemo3+0m5) but 1.5-2 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
    /home/user # cd /home/user/mypackages
    /bin/sh: cd: can't cd to /home/user/mypackages
    /home/user #

So I give up on that one and have a go at step 4 and the results are:

    /home/user # apt-get install libopenobex1=1.4-0maemo3+0m5
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
mp-fremantle-205-pr: Depends: obexd (= 0.18-0maemo5+0m5) but 0.28-0maemo3 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
    /home/user #

And the other bit further down on step 4 I get:

    /home/user # apt-get install --reinstall obexd libopenobex1 openobex-apps
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
Reinstallation of obexd is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.
Reinstallation of libopenobex1 is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.
Reinstallation of openobex-apps is not possible, it cannot be downloaded.
    /home/user #

I've also ran out of space on rootfs but think it's best tol solve one problem at a time.

    Thanks for your help.

Browncaravan, I am no Linux expert and thus donīt know how to best solve or approach this problem.

The problem comes from this package: mp-fremantle-205-pr.
If you remove this package, you *should* be able to proceed with downgrading and installing latest version.
The false Maemo5 update you are probably seeing in app manager should also be gone after removal.
But removal of mp-fremantle-205-pr *might* cause trouble with future Maemo updates...(you might want to search this and the old thread for more information on this...).
I decided to remove the package and accepted that I might need to reflash at some point in the future unless someone comes up with a solution.
Its up to you if you decide to remove it now or if you want to wait/search for a better solution...

@All: Please note, this problem is related to initial versions of the PBAP implementation. With the latest .deb-files this problem should be solved.

Thanks for the reply, so basically, it is looking like I am not able to downgrade without removing that package? I wanted to install the deb files to hopefully fix the last few issues, one being the false update.

Hmm, sorry this is slightly off the topic but I was just thinking - what if I was to restore using the backuo I made pre PBAP and just restored the settings part? Would this restore everything back to how it was or is that not possible?

    Thanks

You could go back to your dealer and ask for more specific info about your clarion (or google for it)
    Hi mirakles and others ;-)

Today i got bad news from the manufacturer clarion:

    So my question:
Is there any chance, to get a syncronisation with these AT commands? Would it be possible to implement these Commands? Or using IrMC ... This wasn't mentioned from clarion.. Can this somehow be used?
I am not a programmer, so forgive my stupid questions...

Sorry for this newbe question, can't find the answer on this silly one:

I am Dutch, with Dutch 1.2 language on my N900. My main memory is called "Nokia N900" and my additional memory card is called "geheugenkaart". I put a directory "pakketten" on both memories with the deb files in them. Now in X term I fail to cd, change directory, to "pakketten". I can change to the home/user directory though.

Can you help me out on this? I used MSDOS commands once, but I am lost in Linux!!

OK, found it myself on internet.
    Usefull commands:
ls: = list files (dir in MSDOS)
The file names are case sensitive
    pwd = path
I had to use cd /home/user/MyDocs
    After that cd Pakketten
What a mess for a Dutch guy hey?

Yesterday I installed both files to my n900. Today I have tried the phone with my car ("new" Skoda Octavia with built-in "Bolero" type radio/CD player and BT car kit).
The car could download my telephone book and I can use it. Very good think!

In case of missed calls/incoming calls/ dialed numbers there is a small "bug"; the car displays names "randomly" from my telephone book, which are not the same, what I can see in my phone call history.

    Did I make something wrong?

Nope, see wiki page for known issues:
    • Lists for outgoing/incoming/missed calls are not supported (some carkits maintain own lists)

It 'works' on a Mondeo NX touchscreen indeed. Now I have to find out why it does not show all of my contacts... but just a few. But thanks anyhow, this is what I wanted for a long time!! And I m a lot further as it is..

Most probably the problem is related to contacts synced to your phone from another device (e.g. using PC Suite) and/or special characters in your contact names/details.

Recreating those contacts on your N900 *should* solve this...

(Similar probs where reported before, but I think we canīt blame this on the PBAP/IrMC implementation itself...)
