I just upgraded to 4.2007-38-2, and now the openvpn setup states that the software can't be installed on my n800! What gives? The firmware changes more that the swap trashing?

I have it running on a couple tablets with the latest firmware. If you're still having trouble drop me a line and I'll send you the deb I used.

Hello...

Let's see if the DEB I use works for you... I put it here for you to grab:

Are you tring to download it via the n800 itself by chance? I've seen odd things happen downloading debs like that sometimes (in MicroB maybe?).

Anyways, if that's the case try downloading/saving it via PC and then place it on the tablet to install. Or if you have unzip on the tablet you can try downloading this zip'd version.

If neither of those work for you, then just private message me your email and I'll email you a copy.

Something will work

Moonshine:

I downloaded the package on my Macbook, and copied it over to the N800 on one of the cards. Tried to install it and got a Incompatible Applications package message from the Application Managger.

Tried to PM you, but your profile states that you have chosen not receive them.

:-(

I think you just clicked on the "Send an email to moonshine" link rather then "Send a private message to Moonshine". I can receive private messages, just not email. Give it another shot and send me your e-mail address. I'll attach a copy of that DEB file. It should work for you.

I'm having the same issue. When I took a deeper look there was a dependency for libffi4. When I tried to install libffi4 it told me that package was incompatible as well. I'm wondering if it might make sense to downgrade to the shipping OS? My main reason for buying this unit was openvpn to the office and then VNC to different desktops for troubleshooting while on the road. It's a lot more convenient to bring a little tablet than my big 17" notebook. (What a mistake that notebook was.)

It has nothing to do with the firmware revision, it's the maemo extras repository that's borked:
