I have set it to "Autoconnect"&"Never". After several hours I will be able to tell if there are connections initiated by apps.

I think this has been discussed many times before.
When set to auto-connect, the phone will establish a connection whenever there is any connection available, be it Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G/whatever. And that connection will stay more or less "dead", there will be no traffic.
The conclusion from previous threads was/is that this is intended behaviour.

Isn't it contradictory to configure autoconnect and install autodisconnect ?
As far as I understand autoconnect, it means to automatically
connect if a network (GPRS and/or WIFI) is available and
not only if a connection is requested.
