Ok. There is a few ways.

1.1. Try adding the software repositories listed on maemo.org( http://maemo.
org/community/wiki/applicationrepositories/ ) to your application manager (as an
Application catalogue) as most of what you want will be found there. Repo's are where
you typically get stuff in Debian-like linux.

2. To install from the net they need a 'one click install', otherwise if you are given the option of downloading a file, try for .deb files as this is what app manager will install from file.

Hope that helps.

Good advice, I would only add that #1 is preferable to #2. Sometimes applications have dependencies, and the #1 route will resolve these (and install extra stuff if you need it).

Good luck, and enjoy your new N800

THanks.. but i have no clue what you all just wrote. I went to the website.. and i am clueless. Im a PC Desktop person. This is all a new language for me like im in a foreign place.

I just want to install some apps that i saw on the maemo site. Are there any sites that the n800 can just install apps with a single click?

sorry about this..

thank you

Using your N800, browse to the site Maemo.org site. Click on downloads and then the section you want. Click on the install button for the software you want.

(If there is no install button you will have to research a bit to make it work. If the installer doesn't work, you will have to research why. If you aren't prepared to do so, then just click on the ones that have installers and if they don't work then oh well)
