Finally got it installed. I still have to configure and test though. Is it just me, or do the repositories seem to take forever to respond?

If you look at other threads, you see this pythoon pblm can be fixed. Change into red pill mode in app manager and libffi4 will install. then python will install. REd pill mode is more powerful. google to find how

Solved! Entered Red Pill mode and installed no problem. Now all we have to do is to get the Sofia SIP stack recognizing the tun connection and VOip on my Asterisk will be complete. (Bug 1860)

Thanks to all that lent a hand on this.

Now I just have to talk to my VPN provider to see why I can't get a proper connection. Hopefully an easy fix and I'll be done. (Something about Cannot open TUN/TAP dev ourname-vpn. Which is true, since it's not there.)

I'm still having issues with my SIP stack and my company's brand-new Asterisk system.
I can VPN into it just fine from home on my Macbook Pro and use a softphone with it, but the N800 just doesn't connect to it.
As goshito mentioned, it seems the current Sofia SIP stack Nokia's ported over somehow refuses to use the TUN connection. There is a bug report on it in Bugzilla, but so far no one has come up with a solution.
If anyone has any "NetFu" in regards to those of us trying to use Asterisk over VPN I'll be more than willing to test it out.

Hehe I also log into Asterisk using eye beam from my Macbook pro :-)

And the 800 works fine from the Lan (using g729, btw). Openvpn works fine for vnc and ssh, but so far not/for rtcomm. The guys @ maemo are working on it though.
