Greetings,

many people requested an GUI for changing fonts on their N900, so here it is; a control panel application that does the trick.

Program creates backups of your starting font settings and they are restored if you uninstall the program.

Version 0.9-3 is now available @ extras-testing, so please test and cast your vote here:

Known issues:
- fonts aren't changed everywhere without rebooting the device
- sometimes homescreen widgets gets messed up when NOT choosing to autoreboot. Rebooting manually afterwards clears the issues (ie. no widgets are lost etc).

This tool works also with Plastic Theme Pack, but it's recommended to use Plastic Theme Setup for font changing if you're using Plastic Themes.

IMPORTANT
Versions 0.7 and 0.8 had issues with pre-remove script, which prevents program to be upgraded or uninstalled. If you're having issues, type these into xterm (rootsh must be installed):
Then update your catalogs and install the latest version from repository.

If your theme gets messed up, you can always reinstall the theme to get back original font definitions (in case the uninstaller of font-changer fails to work). Reinstalling of built in themes will require these commands:

Was going to ask if it was possible to do something like this, but never got round to it.

Any chance of being able to change the font colour, or am I being daft?

Hi!
Is this different from the one included in Black Plastic theme?
If I try it it will be in in conflict whith that one?
This is changing all the fonts(ex: menu) or is the same with Black Plastic?

This one works with any theme that's currently active (including Plastic). So it won't make any difference which one to use, but it's recommended to use Plastic Setup if you're using Plastic theme.

If this is a font changer application you should make it to change all the system fonts, with the ability to backup/restore the original system fonts!
PS: I know that you don't like to modify too muck system files but those backup/restore should do the trick!

Very easy!
Use filebox file manger, with the root acces option enabled and move your fonts in /home/user/.fonts.

Else you should uxe xterm under root and "cp" command!

But I recomend you the first option!

Because I wanted to bring in one 100% working extra font with the changer tool

Btw, it's D-Iivil with capital i-letter after the -character.
