It is a strip of a number of items mimicking what you are presently looking at. You can hit an "X" that appears in the left hand side and cancel it. But as soon as you change what you are looking at a new group of items appears, again, different, but mimicking items that you are looking at. Earle

Google does something like that, and others do too. The only way to avoid them is not to use the offending site or product. Google isn't the only search engine...
