I've just tried downloading a music file from Nokia Music, then transferred it to my N900......it's still copyright protected and cannot be played. Nokia said in April that this was mainly due to copyright management but that they would make N900 and Ovi Music (as was then called) compatible "soon". It is incredulous, when you can go to a third party site such as Tesco (in the UK) and download, transfer and play on N900 with no problems at all. Hey hum

The problem with CWM:

- Only offered for a few cheap music-oriented devices. No E-, C- or N-Series.

- DRM-protected music restricted to two devices. What if you have a small mp3-player or a desktop (besides a notebook)? Should be at least 3-4 devices.

- Ovi player and store usability not as good as iTunes, with the launch of ovi music there is a new version coming, hope its good.

+ Meanwhile you can also find exotic stuff in the store, not as good as amazon, but matches iTunes.

Have you tried ripping the DRM away with DoubleTwist?

Is there a hearable quality-loss with doubletwist?

N97 mini comes with music at least around here, that seems like N to me and isn't exactly cheap either.

Nevertheless I agree with all your points and I hate DRM.
