I haven't checked the app store but a quick google search came up with the following links...

Here is the lite vesion that you should be able to install manually (The full version can also be found from that page)

    http://android-apps.com/applications...tabdroid-lite/

On a side note though... This app appears to be built upon TuxGuitar which can be installed via easy debians synaptic package manager, so that might be worth a shot too?

iirc, android market have all kinds of "oddities". Yes, it will not show a app if your device cant meet its requirements. But every carrier on the planet can also go in and yay or nay any app on there.

Sorry, what I meant by "install it manually" was if you were to download it from the site on to your PC and then transfer it over to your N900 via usb cable? (My bad

That's a shame tuxguitar did not work for you bud, too. If all else fails, then you might be able to find a willing forum member who would like to make a dedicated maemo port of it? ...There is nothing else like this in the repos so it would be a welcome addition I'm sure

    Good luck either way mate!

Not consistently. Some devs makes the installer files available from their own sites or third party stores, but many of the really talked about ones are only available via the marketplace.
