When downloading just choose /home/user/MyDocs in the pop up window of the download screen. Tap on the arrow in the left corner untill you're at the N900 directory and then choose that. N900 and /home/user/MyDocs is the same directory It's named the first in the directory browser on the phone and the latter in xterm.
Find the location of the file and move it to N900, Just tap and hold and then choose 'move' and then choose directory the same way as when downloading
Then do the commands in my other post
OK on step further but this is not streight forward hassle free as expected.
Following errors did show up
need rootsh >= 1.8 installed 1.5 I assume the only place I got rootsh from is extra devel and downloaded it today.
multiboot >= 0.2.10 needed not installed
multiboot kernen >) 0.3 needed not installed
bzip2 > not installed
Well either the guide telling me that the installatinon is a snap is wrong or assuming a lot of software allready on the N900. If this is so then it should be marked as requirement.
At the moment it seems my phone screems that it does not want NitDroid on it.
rootsh was available for update now so I should be on 1.8
Application Manager now shows the NITDroid as an update but tells me:
To update your device to this version of the operating system you must use Nokia PC Suite on your PC. Connect the device to your PC via USB cable and launch the applicatoin. (Create Backup button)
Downloaded the 0.2.7 now I thinkg I am a bit further (ignoring my phone which said not to it in any possible way)
Now I did not go into the formating (stopped befor at the exe 3) no it sais its downloading NitDroid_N900-the-flying-world.tbz2
This will take rather a long time was the message at the beginning. Can you tell me how big the files are so I know what to expect in order to find out if it is doing something or hanging .

Is this how it should be?

I think it's about 85mb compressed or something like that... If you have conky installed you can open that and see the internet traffic if you feel nothing is happening
