I dropped my N900 and now I have issues with the volume rocker. The left side is stuck down. I cant even use the physical keyboard because the os is processing the volume "change". How can I disable the volume rocker? Can I remap the keys?

Thanks

Josh

I got the exact same problem, does conversations crash too ?

there has to be a way to disable it..., i could also just open my n900 and fix it but a simple shell command would do the trick as well.

My volume rocker will press down on the right side if i only look hard at it, while it works normally on the left side. Quite a problem when I speak on the phone, since I hold my finger near the volume rocker. It just becomes quiet.

Steve would tell me to hold it differently.

I know it should be possible to disable the volume rocker but then I would maybe like a volume slider on the phone GUI.

My phone has been dropped, but not more/harder than any other phone I've ever owned. I feel like this phone innards aren't as securely fixed into it's casing as my previous phones. Which again might be consistent with the USB plug issues rampant in this forum. In addition to the volume rocker, the shutter button must be pressed quite hard, long and deep into the phone to work, usually ruining the photo. So I could use an onscreen shutter button in FCam, too.
