Hey iontruo2, great post.

Yeah, radio internet streaming is now probably my favorite feature.

I'm using Xmms to do this.

What I did was right click and saved the .pls files of my 26 favorite stations over at Shoutcast and put them all in a folder.

With Xmms, using the really sweet "expensive" skin theme, I add all those .pls files into a single playlist.

This way I can switch stations in a second.

I too go to the Capital library here about every three days. Free video rentals for the win! *lol*

You check this post on how I watch videos on my N800.

@addison - How do I enable "full screen" for XMMS? I have already installed the plugin.

Hiya Den!

Okay, installing Xmms is fluffy cake, at least the two or three times I've done it.

Here's the one post I used.
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=234

Use the one-click, green "Click to Install!" link.

After that, go to the Application Manager and install Xmms which will now be available.

That's it. Nothing else is needed.

For me, in addition, I did install the .mp4 support for music files.

Anyway, I would definitely recommend having a Personal Launcher icon on your desktop for Xmms. Just drag Xmms from the Available Applications to the Your Personal Launcher and that's all.

Give yourself maybe an hour or so to figure out what all features Xmms is capable of since it's quite huge.

Xmms does not have a full screen mode but it does offer a Zoom feature though it's quite ugly.

I would imagine you'll need the Zoom feature Den since the applet is quite small if you have difficulty seeing well.

On Xmms, there's a top left corner that will bring up a menu.

On my theme, I'm using...
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.p...content=105093
there's 5 additional shortcuts on the left side as well.

Then on the top right there's full minimize, partial minimize, and close.

So that's like 9 special shortcuts just on the applet itself.

But yeah, it's best to spend an hour or so understanding all it has to offer.

What I do is launch Xmms, play whatever, and then completely minimize it so the applet is no longer on the screen. To bring it back up again, just click on the Personal Launcher icon again.

Oh, and expect some frustration now and then if you click on partial minimize.

To get it back, it should be the second to right button on the top right of your applet.

Wow, I type too much. *lol*

@addison - got it zoomed to a decent size. Plays all my MP3 music files fine. Found a skin thats easy for me to view. Having trouble though changing numeric values in "preferences" because the virtual keyboard on my N800 does not come up while in that menu. I do run it with Personal Launcher.

The other day I was in a store and was fiddling with my N810 (sorry, not an N800) and they guy next to me pulled out his N810. We ended up chatting a bit. He really liked his device but the 'funny' thing was that even after had it for two years and used it a lot he had no idea that there was a 'community' at maemo.org.

I emailed him a link.

You definitely are special Den! *lol*

What values are you needing to enter in Xmms?

I guess I haven't gotten deep enough with this like you have already.

And yeah, I still get great comments from others on my N800.

Free texting and phone calls. No contract. No paying for apps except on giving donations to others here.....

How can you lose?

In "preferences" under "options" you can change how the song title is displayed, it defaults to showing the track number, which I wanted to change.

xmms should store a config file somewhere in your home directory.
You may be able to edit this config file to change the
preference values.
