Weird, for me the font changes @ conversations also. You could try the theme changing trick; change your theme to something else and then switch back to Futureal. After that close the conversations (or to be sure, type "killall rtcom- messaging-ui" to xterm) and see if that helps.
edit: have you "modded" the conversations manually somehow? That might be also preventing font to change.
By "didn't mod conversations" did you also mean never installed a conversation-theming package? I remember at least one being a package instead of actively editing the HTML (CSS?). It might be installed and waiting for an ambush in the shadows.
what about changing widget's font?? that's the one and only thing that p*s**s me of..
using ubuntu beta font right now and it really doesnt look good with the standard font in foreca weather widget for example..
can we change those as well?
