Hey guys..
My n900s slide is always open..
i first found the problem.. because of my battery leeching out really fast..
then the lock slide on the right surface of phone wasnt working.. the cell never got lock for more than 2-3 seconds...
later i installed healthcheck... and it showed keyboard as open even if i closed the slide..
therefore i came to conclusion that my sensor might not be working...

so can any of u guys tell me if the problem i diagnosed is correct(if not what else could it be) and if it is correct how should i fix it

i dunno about what you got there, but if it is like the guy that dropped and sitted on it and shook it with keys and coins and sand etc, they posted a video on how to stiffen the slide again, look it up on Youtube, somthing like "loose slide fix" or search of the stress tests or somthing

wooohooo healthcheck has a use - but i have to admit, the device thinks it is open, ergo, sensor aint a happy bunny..

No idea if a reflash may correct it, but surely worth a go?

check to be sure you haven't lost the small magnets near the camera/kickstand. i think they might be used for sensing open/closed.

Or rather, check that you're not putting it NEAR a magnet. The track sensor is magnetic, so putting it in a case with a magnet in it, or sticking a fridge magnet to the case, or anything like that could cause the sensor to think it's always open.

If it's in a case or such, try taking it out and see if health check still shows it open. If not, then it's something in your case.

if the sensor is like the one in a flashlight i had, it is quite fragile once you dig deep enough, but i would expect it to be quite protected, lots of hard plastic around it and stuff, try moving a strongish (not too strong) magnet near it and see if it reacts
