This is odd - I rebuilt my phone over the weekend (backup, reflash root and emmc, restore, install all apps) and now I can't connect to the network anymore.

Am currently looking for the fix - if I find it, I'll post here.

Eduroam should work. You need the PR1.2 Firmware. Then the Certificatemanager can import certificates. You have to download the certificate and have it on the N900.

Yes, for people using MSCHAP. Not all eduroam organizations use this (in fact judging by response most are using PAP).

Like my uni - solved by installing PR 1.2 *AND* fix from erniadeldesktop's post -- https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1635 (download "A small QT application to enable PAP GUI" -- wlantool_0.0.4_armel.deb).

Install, create connection, setup something like this:

    security: WPA with EAP
    EAP type: TTLS
    EAP method: EAP PAP

Consult yor manual for exact config.

Fill username and password with your data and don't forget to install certificate (use certificate manager in settings).

I've tried it all. I have PR1.2. I've tried everything that there is on the forums. Downloaded the certificate and set the connection up manually. Chose the "Select username manually" option in Advanced. Tried adding @ to the username followed by the domain name, for which I had to log in to a PC at university to check what it had. Tried other possible domains. Tried doing it like domain\username rather than username@domain. Tried anonymous@domain.

Meanwhile, my friend popped his iPhone out and connected to the network without even having a certificate installed.

The instructions from my university clearly show that it uses: WPA2 with AES, PEAP, EAP MSCHAPv2. In one place, it particularly says "leave domain blank".

In that case you don't need this tool -- WPA and MSCHAP2 are (IIRC) supportet with PR 1.2 out of the box.

Eduroam works fine, but settings are little different from PC.
    wpa with eap
    eap-peap
Certificate - none (it will find that automatically)
    EAP MSCHAPv2
Only username without @ domain and your network secret

Then Advanced settings-EAP- manual user name with @domain.
    Should work fine

I don't even know if its "eduroam" my university (Stockholm School of Economics) is using. It doesn't say that anywhere.

    But I'll try those settings.

EDIT: I don't know the domain because the support website says "leave domain blank" but I logged into a PC at the Computer Lab at school and got the domain name from there. Hope it works.

I have a 3G connection on my phone too but my battery dies too fast using 3G.

Hi shanrizvi! When you click on internet connection on the task bar nenu, you should see the eduroam as a wireless network..
