today I've tried again all the setups and is now working. Till yesterday was impossible. I've no clue, looks like it has self-healed... My guess are: 1) university has changed authentication system. 2) something in the OC kernel, or in the last python libs, or in some app has helped. Sorry but I can't help you couse i don't know what happened. Dunno, try to set it and reboot [win style on linux???]
I saw "osiris-sec" but that's not the point, is just the internal name of the network: somewhere in the SSE studentweb website you should find the kind of network your university is using. (I was trying to find it out for you but that website is a mess). Anyhow academics are usually using eduroam..
anyhow, for what I saw here, http://monitor.eduroam.org/eduroam_m...europe_capital
maybe your one is not..
SSID is SSE Student for sure because thats what shows up in the list of connections when I just search for a connection. The SSID for the network isn't hidden or secret.
hi folks
I'm new N900 user. Before that i used iphone 3g. in the case of connecting wifi, put device into search mode, get the connection, tap to connect and it will ask the pass key if security enabled otherwise got connected. But N900 does'nt ask for pass key but ask me to tap a button on the router whilst there is no button on my router and there is a pin method that works fine but i want the pass key method. Anyone know how to get rid on this. Thanks in advance.
Solved my problem with connecting to WPA2/PEAP/MSCHAPv2 network - turns out the IT dept had changed to router config so I needed to remove the domain name from my username :-
username
instead of
username@domain
You have the same settings as my university. Follow all the instructions the school says but edit the connection and put you user name and password in when it asks you after you select MSCHAPv2. click next and then click on advanced and go over to the EAP tab. click use manual user name and enter your user name again and save it. Thats what I had to do in order to get wifi to work
