The backend is chosen based on the filename extension. Radio streams often have no proper extension, and the backend for Unknown Audio is used.
So you could try setting the backend for Unknown Audio to mplayer.

Thanks for cover support, I'll add it to widget in next release.
I've got 2 requests:
1. Can "media playing" widget be a bit smaller in height, so 2 rows of Shelf are completetly visible? At the moment there is a need in scroll to read labels in second row.
2. Can timeout for thumbnailing be increased? Some of my videos take more time to get thumbnailed, so the timeout is reached and after that video is finally thumbnailed according to log, so no thumbnail icon appears.

I really like the new update. Nice new layout.

The only thing i'm missing is searching for a song by typing a letter or number. Andy in landscape mode the menu doens't exactly fit the screen. You have to scroll down a lit bit to see the text of the icons on the bottom row.

Also in shuffle if you click on previous song you don't go to the previous song

The last thing i really would like to see is in the possibility to sort video's on upload date in the youtube player when searching.

Really nice application!
There only a few things to optimise:

1. The seek bar has sometimes a bug which makes it useless because the bar freezes while something is playing and every time you want to use it the song or video starts at the beginning

2. It is not possible to search with the keyboard like it is possible in Nokias MediaPlayer

3. If I play a song in folder view the song stops and the no other song starts after that. I would expect (like symfonie) that the next song in that folder will be played which would be nice

Great! It's not only cover art, but generally icons, including image and video thumbnails.

Smaller wouldn't be finger friendly. I'm trying to think of a better way. I don't like it's size either, but it was the easiest to come up with in the beginning.

If you're speaking about the N900, then no. The hildon-thumbnailerd is used for generating the thumbnails. It has its own timeout that I cannot affect.
On the N8x0 mplayer is used for thumbnailing, and yes, this timeout could be changed (8 seconds at the moment).

Yes, shuffling doesn't maintain a history right now.

I think the default sorting order of YouTube is by relevance. If you can provide me the URL parameters for changing the sort mode on YouTube, then it could be implemented quickly.

I've experienced this once or twice but was not able to reproduce it. I'm still investigating under which circumstances this happens.
