Hum, so you`ve already installed, but it`s not working... Same as me.
I did install libmixer, and it still don`t work, taht`s why I`m trying to fix it another way. Run it from xterm and tell us what's happening.
/opt/beat2x/apstart
All I seem to get is permission denied, in both binaries beat2x and apstart.
It will update your libsdl-mixer to include that +ogg+mp3 part, and then it will work.
But I already installed this. My problem is that it`s giving me permission denied to both binaries. And nothing in this world can give them permission to work!
The apstart file should be fine from installation.

But it`s my N900 who isn`t helping...
My apstart gives me permission denied, I found this quite strange, as well as beat2x ( what i don`t find strange because, stupditelly, I copied it as root ).
But chmod should give it permission, but all it gives me is a blank
