Probably because it isnt due to a defect in hardware or the craftsmanship of the phone. Maybe he sat on it or something. There are a bunch of disassembly videos, and some service manuals floating around online. Im sure that a google search can yield the proper info.

Had a look on the net and plenty available, but have settles on Sians Mobiles as I've bought LCDs from them before. (no I'm not a serial screen breaker!)
Anyway, any tips, once I get new screen, on disassembly / assembly?
Anything to watch out for?
