I had the same issue, to be honest w you, the phone improved a lot when i change my attitude lol... i know it sounds stupid but is true, you chan check some of the threads i did, some ppl over there gave me tips on how to make it work...
1. support for USB on the go
2. Support for wired headphone buttons
3. Fix virtual keyboard problems when editing an existing text.
4. Better flash support.
5. Full ovi suite support
6. BEtter phone interface wich works faster when a call comes in
7. Equalizer in media player
8. Paying by phone bill in ovi store!!! symbian allready has this.
9. Far more faster app management system. (community has proven its possible)
10. addons on camera like sepia, black and white etc etc
11. BEtter search function in the phone wich search in all directories (like the app scout)
12. updated PDF reader... the newest PDF files are not readable with the n900 anymore. HTC desire does read them!
13. fMMS integrated in the conversations app.
14. a function to put a shortcut more then once on home screens. for example the phone shortcut on every desktop.
15. Directory support in menu's so that you can rearange your apps shortcuts into maps (ApMeFO works terrible when rearanging shortcuts with the built in n900 function)
16. a function to let the calendar start on month view every time you click on it. now i have to switch it to monthly view every freaking time.
17. Email app crashes allot and is most of the time very slow! Also when openening pictures in attachments in the email app results in pressing the back button about 5 times before you return to the email.
Well thats about it. The rest of the device is awsome
how about the call log.... sometimes i miss it when i have more than 1 missed calls from a number
will 1.3 allow for easier access to the stylus for lefties?

OTG is impossible. The usb port is of the wrong type, and the ID pin is not physically connected.
It's extremely unlikely that anyone at Nokia is even thinking of host mode either, because it's probably hundreds of manhours of work for a feature the N900 isn't supposed to have anyway according to the specs.
if somebody said this already i apologize ahead...
i want the old virtual keyboard back or atleast let us choose between pr 1.1 kb or pr 1.2, i just flash my n900 and i got the old kb back but i cant use plastic theme or font changer
