Is there anyway i can block text messages on my N900 from people who are not in my contact list? I can on my blackberry, just wondering if i can/if someone has done a app to do this? Thanks.
As yet nobody has done an application to do this - however having said that, the process is relatively easy.
There is enough documentation floating around to implement the idea, maybe starting with the anti-theft and I am here threads.
Essentially (I hope I've got this right):
* Build a d-bus listener to intercept incoming text messages.
* Decode incoming text messages and filter through your hit list.
* Stop the UI from alerting you about the incoming message if a hit is made.
* Either delete the message entirely from the sqlite database or move it elsewhere for viewing in an external application.
Yeah I have lately been receiving spam text messages as well. It would be nice if some can come up with something. I dont want to avoild all incoming and outgoing calls on my plan. I dont want to change my phone # either and I certainly dont want to change this phone for my old N95 or the android phones. Please can someone come up with something?
Yes, it would be really helpful if someone comes up with a decent app to block SMSs and phone calls from certain numbers (rather expressions like 9123?56**7).
Ok... this is annoying. I just got Advanced Blocker and till be putting it on my N95 for temporal usage until an app for blocking sms in maemo becomes available.
