Never mind I installed the GUI version psfreedom and then used WinSCP to copy the patched ''psfreedom.ko'' to the folder
/opt/psfreedom/modules/omap1
It's now working for me with the option to load my backups etc. can't wait for all the homebrew which will soon come

i keep getting message unable to install PSFreedom
application packages missing
libqt4-test(>=4.6)
libqt4-script(>=4.6.2~git20100224-0maemo1+0m5)
must be doing something wrong here

You're all doing it wrong (even if it works)
(Hint: /lib/firmware)
I'll add a GUI option in the next release, you can even do peek and poke syscalls

you can remove the phone once the ps3 booted
you got to plug it each time you are booting
