Well all say what you want. but 99% of all the people will use it to play pirated games even if they say they dont.
I hope sony bans you guys asses from their online services.
There was a damn good reason why the cores were blocked from usage. People enabling CPU cores that shouldnt have and burning down their PS3's shouldnt whine afterwards.
Most PS3's right now allready are on the edge of overheating in some games. wonder how it would go if you enable the locked CPU's
A friend of mine forgot to open the door to the case where the PS3 was in when he played a game. His PS3 was overheated and now always blows at max when he fires it up. A device this weak for heat will sure as hell burn down when you fire up more CPU's
Not even thinking about the morrons going to overclock their PS3's.
Well good luck with all that. You guys are ruining the whole industry with this pirated $hit!
Not to forget the god damn cheaters hacking their games to be uber users online now!!! thanks allot! PS3 was the only pretty safe place to play fair games.

why would Sony ban you from the PSN??? they did it when the released a newer firmware and blocked the DNS trick! if you cant sign in they cant ban you period.

the disabled cores are about yield, not heat. unlike the 360 the ps3 is very well built, it does not have heat problems. I agree that pirates can ruin the industry no matter how people want to spin piracy. It's usually dependent on how easy it is to do, IMO sony should enable Other OS again so that the people talking about homebrew are happy while pirates would have to open their ps3s for that exploit anyway.

They're used by PS3 in games; why not allow them to be used when using say MythTV?

when i brought my ps3 on release day. it boasted a lot of things that over the past couple of years have been removed!! thats theft!! plain and simple.

First of piracy is not ok its illigal.
That being said one really has to wonder about all the companys
wining about piracy when they can afford to pay an actor INSANE
amounts. I read somwhere that Johnny Depp was offered around 60m us dollars for the next pirates movie. Clearly the movie industry is making money still or they couldnt afford that.
Valve made a test on steam, lowering 1 games price to half.
They sold so much more copys that they still earned a lot of cash.
Big companys are so greedy that they cant se that lowering prices is the way to fight piracy. What normal person can afford to buy 10 Blue ray discs att full price a month or 2 games.
Anyone know how to put backup manager on root folder????? I have copied backup manager directly to my usb but when i insert it in PS3 it wont run. No installation file ERROR occurs. Anyone can help me plz............
i agree with the above post. these companys have been robbing us for years! i paid £45 for super mario 3 on the NES when it was released. and i pay the same for a ps3 game today!! and lets not forget its not down to HACKERS that piracy is a problem. they provided a tool to backup your media to a hdd in order to save the lifespan of a very badly built BRdrive. something that of course should be availible? it is on the 360. and the pc. its the PEOPLE that abuse the tools that cause a problem. and the internet only makes things worse. p2p and such. maybe soon sony will remove the XMB from its firmware. and in 3 years time release it again and charge X-amount for it!! i refer to this article here

just drag it to the root directory of your usb drive. no subfolders just the .pkg not in anyfolders.
