Hey AIMehdi, CepiPerez & D-livil,

I followed to:

extract hildon-home.launch1 from tar.gz
sudo gainroot
place hildon-home.launch1 (executable) in /usr/bin
mount -o bind /usr/bin/hildon-home.launch1 /usr/bin/hildon-home.launch
dsmetool -k /usr/bin/hildon-home
dsmetool -t /usr/bin/hildon-home
gconftool -s /apps/osso/hildon-home/task-shortcuts-size -t int XX
// XX = icon size
gconftool -s /apps/osso/hildon-home/task-shortcuts-back -t int X
// X = icon background (0-no, 1=yes)
gconftool -s /apps/osso/hildon-home/task-bookmarks-size -t int XX
// XX = bookmarks size (width, rest is automatic)

AND IT'S AWESOME! Thanks so much! Makes me love my n900 even more.

Is this how it is supposed to be ? my icons seem eaten up. and every time i try setting up the size it says'imagemagick' not found and then asks me to download it..
Help would be greatly appriciated.

Edit: Got it working thanks to CepiPere ! How do i uninstall the aboce packages ?

I've drawn the GUI and it's already working. I just want to wait for CepiPerez to package his modified hildon-home and upload to repos so I can just make my GUI depend on it (that way it will automatically install the modded hildon-home).

At the moment my GUI can resize the shortcuts, disable or enable backgrounds for those, enable or disable bundled custom transitions, change snap-to-grid-value, change font family and sizes.

Thing that still needs tweaking is selecting any icon theme user has installed to use with currently active theme. I need to figure out how I can filter out unwanted directories when I read with QT what subfolders are available in /usr/share/icons.

I'm also working with color selector which would let user change font colors, but that's very alpha stage and I need to read more QT docs on how to parse stuff from css -file and place results in qstring.

Imagemagick did not get installed properly.. looks like you have very little space left on you device.. and CepiPeres way is way better.. to uninstall you could..

1. sudo gainroot
2. dpkg -P imagemagick

3. apt-get remove zenity

Thanks AlMehdi, the cepiPeres worked like a charm until i rebooted my device. the icons go back to the size as they were after i used your script. but then they resize to my desired size after i entered 'mount -o bind /usr/bin/hildon-home.launch1 /usr/bin/hildon-home.launch' as root.. is there anyway possible to avoid using this command after every reboot? like the icons size being the same..
Thanks in advance

Btw, is someone else suffering this issue with CepiPerez's hildon-home; changing background via "desktop editing mode - change background" isn't working anymore.

Just want to narrow down if it's because of the modded hildon-home or something else...

Sorry I forgot to send the modified code to matan to update the package. I will send it to him at monday cause I let it in my work.

@D-Iivil
The change background is a bug in matan's modified-hildon-desktop
I can help you with Qt if you want

Do have idea if it's possible to resize contact shortcuts also?
This is the N900 customisation I desire above all others. Would even pay for this option.
