Until I actually held one, I thought the 770 always had that aluminum outer shell, but that turned out to be just the hard case flipped over. I loved the look and feel of the 770 w/o the cover. It kind of made me feel like I was using a machine out of Blade Runner or Strange Days.
Along those lines, I feel like the n800 is also a futuristic sci-fi device, but from a more sterile future like Aeon Flux or The Fifth Element.
I think I echo the sentiment of many others that the form factor of the 770 w/ the power of the n800 would be ideal.
