You can't[1], but you can get root access in some other way and change it.

[1] Well, you could run a brute force password cracker, visit a hypnotist etc but it doesn't seem worth the effort.

in xterminal do the following (dont copy and paste)
apt-get install rootsh
root
passwd

reboot after installing rootsh before proceeding with changing the password

For future reference, if you use an ssh server on the device, I find it better to install openssh-server and change the password with the config dialog that appears post-install.
