My N800 has fallen from my desk on the floor (luckily I have carpet on it) and I think it might have landed on the charger-plug while plugged in.
It still works fine and charges.
Now I wonder why the charger-jack is so robust? I know that in many devices (like cheap laptops) the charger-plug is only solderd to some board. But how is it built into the N800?
Does any one have a close-up on a disassambled N800 with the charger-plug visible (I haven't found any)?

Also, I seem to recall reports on this forum regarding device mishaps that resulted in the charging tip breaking off in the jack and reports of loose jacks that continue to work. The two N800's I have worked with both had jacks that were not what I would consider "secure", but no problems thus far. Perhaps the "looseness" is a design feature??

Mine fell from a top bunk. I have to position it to get it to charge but thats not such a big deal and can wait till I get back to the states to fix it.

These pictures indicate that the jack is part of the chassis and not soldered on the board. This would explain why it still works while beeing a bit "loose".
