is seems that after 5 hours of nightmare problems ive now also got no GSM, is there an easy option to fix it, cos its 5am here and ive been trying to fix my bricked n900 all night, if not ill get rid of it at 8am when vodafone open cos im totally sick of this phone right now
why i cant just type *#7370# is beyond me
i cant even go back to my n97 cos that peice of crap is at nokia getting the scratched slider fixed, its just one problem after another with these nokia phones

i fixed it with the global firmware

Then you should probably take a look at the 3000 existing threads about this issue and try to find the few Nokia comments between all the useless "me too" comments. ;-)
In short: Yeah, I think they underestimated how many people use it.

I am also getting the same error, but the difference is I get this error when I tried to connect to internet using my cell phone carrier(vodafone). I could connect to internet using wifi, I am able to make a call and even I am able to access internet (provided by carrier) using Nokia PC suite.

Please help me.

for few munites my N900 doesn't recognize the sim card. "cellular network not available" What should i do?????
PLEASE HELP

it makes u angry when u want to make a call and there is no network
Nokia should make a solution
it seems many N900 users have the same problem

Try not to enter your problem with such massive text, as people will only wind you up!

Have you cleaned the SIM card and its contacts in the phone?

When this happens; either look in Settings -> About Product or Type *#06# in the phone app to check that you still have an IMEI number, the problem you describe sounds like an IMEI number failure.
If this is the case take it to get repaired.
