i dint remember anyone asking this question in the forum, so i gotta ask cause im interested:

will it be possible to have MAEMO run on the new MeeGo device?
Like an updated version with that multitouch magic support?
Cause maybe i wont like the new MeeGo stuff and i kinda love MAEMO right now so i might wanna use the wonderful new specs of the new device but with my favourite OS...What do you think?

Plausible but you'll need to por the drive and recompile in maemo to make maemo propriatery drivers. Otherwise you can't just install it on and work without tweaks.

N9 doesn't have the same hardwares as the N900 therefore to install Maemo it may need to be ported to N9

Pretty much impossible - too much of the core code for Maemo isn't available, so getting it to run on different hardware will mean major amounts of work. Hopefully MeeGo will retain most of the good features of Maemo though.

Read through the documentation of Meego leaked a few weeks ago which discussed in detail the finer details of Meego.

I too was skeptical but was convinced that I would like meego based on one thing alone:

- Proper implementation of multi tasking.

Funny how this was not a priority for me but since Maemo spoilt us, I cant live without it. Single reason why I have not and will not switch to Android.

Meego will have Maemo type Multi tasking Interface as well as a scrolling panel type UI, also seen in WebOs.

In this case, you will "only" need a MeeGo compatible version of the Hildon-Desktop. That should give you the Maemo 5 UI you are used to.
(AFAIK there are already people working on it.)
