How do I install wget on N900? I have the http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ - fremantle-1.2 catalog defined in the app manager but wget is not showing in the app list to install. Should I just
Code:
apt-get install wget
?

Duh, I was just expecting to see it in the app manager for some reason. Can someone please enlighten me what makes some apps to show in the app. manager and not others?

The apps that are shown are all in the category user/* where * is games, networking, science...
The default application manager can't install application that are not in user/* unless if they are dependancies. You can install them with apt-get or faster application manager.

I think the idea is to not clutter Application Manager with too many low-level utilities, and just show the full "apps" that consumers might want to download. People who need wget (a command-line app) will probably be ok with using apt-get. And any other app that needs it can specify it as a dependency, which will download fine via Application Manager.
