is there an app or a root code which I can use to password protect my files (music/videos etc) and contacts.

I know I can just secure device (autolock) but it would be handy if there was an app which can also do this and would let you secure files/content of your choice.

as far as i know, you can only hide them...could be great if there is such an app though!

This is a bit off topic.. but to have the tracker not to look in the ringtones dir you could edit the NoWatchDirectory in tracker.cfg

    needs leafpad installed:
    Code:
    leafpad /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg

even it looks up in sygic audio files. and the audio files all show up as test ... I have some 1000 test files showing up on my media player ..

I use the media box instead. it is much cleaner.

Never underestimate insecureness, by false sence of secureness:

Sensitive data, you could store encrypted using 7z, openssl, decrypting every time you use it. But again don't get false sense of security by doing that.
