That's normal. It's only a warning (and it doesn't stop it from using that repository) so you can just ignore that one.

Application Manager finally seems to be working!

The problem seem to have stemmed from the hildon-desktop package (empty lines between the "Package:" line, the "Pin:" line, and the "Pin-Priority" line in the /etc/apt/preferences file)

Everyone which have Firefox installed get that error.. so it is nothing to be bothered about.

Did you fix the prefereces file?

yes i fixed the preferences file. Application Manager and fapman are up and running like normal! Thanks for the help!

mine still doesnt work the repositries have dissapeared and i i added them again i save then nothing happens cant do anything with app manager should i just reflash?

Do you have rootsh installed? If so, what happens when you run "apt-get update" as root in xterm?

I don't have an /etc/apt/preferences file?

Well...
if you feel the need for it, and you surely would know if it is necessary to you, you could just create it.
