using the application manager to edit your repository lists (catalogues) it doesn't look like you can edit the "maemo.org catalogue" with the GUI. I have been able to work around this thing temporarily by disabling that repo (and others generating that gzip error) and creating a new one that is identical, but with "fremantle-1.3" instead of "fremantle-1.2" in the distribution field (obviously you can use a different title). I can't say it's totally safe, but I have been playing with it all day with no trouble.

I tried this morning to check updates and the maemo.org catalog fails to refresh. Tried this afternoon, same result.

Hopefully tomorrow, this will be okay. Manually seeking for updates.......eeeeww..

I'm getting the exact same problem. Maemo.org isn't able to refresh, but extras-testing and extras-devel are working just fine... How do we vote on the bug report?

I'm having a similar problem,

I've just received a replacement n900 from nokia after the charging element fell out of my last one. I have reflashed the device to the latest firmware (though this problem happened both before and after the reflash).

When i go to update the device i get the error message

"Application list partially refreshed. Some catalogues unavailable. Check catalogue details. "

When I click on details it tells me it is the maemo.org catalogue that is failing. there's a red error message saying...

http://repository.maemo.org/extras/d...el/Packages.gz
Sub-Process gzip returned an error code (1)
http://repository.maemo.org/extras/d...el/Packages.gz
Sub-process gzip returned an error code (1)

anyone any ideas of how i get this fixed?

Many thanks!

I can't believe this is taking a whole day. I wouldn't be so frustrated if I haden't had to reflash my phone and now can't install anything on it.
