Hi all, I hope anyone could help me with this. I work in a hospital where I can connect to internet over wifi, what I want to do it's to be abble to conect when I'm on guard over ssh to my laptop in my home where I have a wifi connection to.. I have read that tuneling its the option but I don't know how to do it in maemo 5
Install ssh server onto laptop. Connect to laptop from N900 via ssh.
yeah I know and I have installed openssh in my n900 and in my laptop whit archlinux but what I want to know its how to connect it outside my home network
1. Go to dyndns.com to get free DNS resolution account.
2. Set up ip address update with dyndns. Most linksys wrt 54 wifi routers have the capability to auto update dyndns with the routers IP address.
3. Set up port forwarding in your router to forward 22 to your home server
4. ssh into your home server from anywhere in the world.
5. ??
6. Profit!
Note: #5 must also involve securing your ssh server from auto-bots and brute force attacks. Disabling root access is highly recommended. Be aware that the open internet is a Bad Bad Place (TM).
