My brother in-law has a Made in Finland version and his is thinner and lighter than my Made in Korea, bought in USA first batch device.
Has anyone else noticed a difference in thickness between early ones and later ones?

no way. All n900s are not made in korea. Few lucky ones have Made in Finland ones too.
That's rare you're made in Finland.
