Hi guys, I've got to send my n900 away to Nokia to get the loose usb port fixed and the man in the shop seems to think that they will probably wipe everything off my phone.
So my question is, is there a way to save all my apps etc before I send it?

Cheers.

You can take backups via the "Backups" option in your device's application list.
It doesnt backup applications themselves (no point) but simply saves a list of repositories setup on the devices and applications installed from them, when you then restore the backup itll reinstate the repos, then download + install all your prior apps.

From http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=36576
It offers backup of:

* Communications and Calendar
* Bookmarks
* Settings
* Application list
But if you do not have sd-card, then it backups those to /home/user/MyDocs/backups/ and you have to manually transfer the files (whole directory tarred perhaps) to somewhere else.

Photos, videos and (advanced user) manually made or transfered files (/usr/local/, /home/user/MyDocs/) have to be backedup manually oneself.
