Instead of Jul 27 2010 in URL use underscores (symbol: _) or numbers (e.g. 20100727). Makes it easier to use wget.

Sorry I didn't have enough to time post logs yet but here's my OTG experience so far:

Kingston 4GB and Myflash 4GB read/write works ok, but I need to unplug and replug the device in order to make it work. Sometimes N900 doesn't boot, it starts the shutdown sequence before the Xorg.

I got it to work a 80 GB external drive.

I've only gotten once. Now I do not recognize any devices.

1. create "/etc/multiboot.d/boot.item" with the following content:

2. install the kernel, modules, flasher debs from first post in Thread (if you already did do it again!)
3. Reboot with opened keyboard and select option "Boot"
4. now feel free to to install the scripts and test (check with "uname -r" if your kernel is "2.6.28-hostmode1")

!!!After starting as normal you will need to flash again the hostmode kernel!

Btw:
MohammedAG confirmed that
sh: 0: unknown operand
is normal because of some bad scripting by Nokia
I do exactly as this post says;

I boot with kernel 2.6.28-omap1, create a new .item in /etc/multiboot.d (mine called 10-Maemo-2.6.28-hostmode1.item), install kernel, modules, flasher debs from somewhere in the middle of the topic (updated ones), shut down the device, start it with open keyboard, select the 2.6.28-hostmode1 entry I created, it says "Booting - please wait" and shows Modules: ext3, but nothing at Kernel and then it boots in omap1 again.

Any ideas? I've read though the topic, but haven't been able to solve it.

@mcgachnik I found I had to reinstall and reflash the hostmode kernel to make it work. The flasher script should print an error message if the kernel image is missing, but instead it just silently doesn't do anything.

I tested the hostmode kernel, but without lucky. 2 Pen drive and 1 external powered drive didn't detected. I attached 2 syslog.
I see in kernel hostmode the poweroff don't work, so I removed the battery for a cold start.

The version of i2c-tools is 3.0.2

I tried to measure the voltage and I have 5V and some millvolts, but none device is recognized.

Thank you for your great work.

PS
Admin please support also bz2 files, I attach a gz file but bz2 is better.
