Thanks. It's a bug in mplayer, so has nothing to do with MediaBox. Other player backends report the tags correctly.

Maybe you're missing codecs for playing these videos?
If not, then try rebooting your device as something in Maemo might have get stuck.

Note: this is all when output through the headphone jack....
The mixer controls for audio volume and FM radio volume are different. For some reason the FM radio is way louder. Normal audio volume cannot go that high, I suppose.
    But please prove me wrong.

I will be hosting a lecture about "Film and Psychoanalysis" soon, so my first question would have been if there was a "presentation app" which plays both, clips and images based on a playlist or folder. The question has been rendered obsolete now that i found Mediabox to do the job the way i need it (thanks a lot for it!).

However, since i intend to make my TV-connected N900 display the images in full screen mode, i noticed there is no way to access Mediabox via shortcuts or swiping when in fullscreen mode. I have to go back to windowed mode, then press "next". Now i'm asking myself if there are any hidden options to enable keyboard shortcuts or other ways and means to switch playlist items?

It may seem like a minor issue, but swiping would be the most fluid and convenient way, yet i wouldn't mind pressing a keyboard button.
    Did i miss anything?

Another, more serious issue i encountered is movie playback with the mplayer backend, which is mandatory for presentation purposes due to stability and consistency. When playing back widescreen AVI-media, i get a wrong aspect ratio, the width is being forced to fit screen, while KMplayer plays them fine. When using Gstreamer and MAFW, the aspect ratio is correct, but i get hiccups due to occasional high bitrates, so this not an option.

The lecture is few weeks ahead, maybe you could include a fix in the upcoming build(s)?

    The shuffle problem is reproducable:
Put a huge amount of titles into the default playlist.
Play in shuffle mode, everything is ok.
Play other content, for example a podcast or internet radio.
Select the default playlist again and play in shuffle mode.
The playlist has only 60 tracks after that.
If I clear the playlist and refill, everything works ok, until
    doing the above.

Mediabox becomes very slow with huge playlists. Even
returning to the shelf takes a long load.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but mediabox can't seem to see new music. I've cleared index and rescanned but it only sees the music that I've already had, won't see anythning new.

Edit: I do that a lot, complain about something then find out it was my fault. Had metalayer-crawler disabled. Started it and rescanned, found all my music. All is well :P

Manual scanning can also be done. Navigate to the folder you want to scan, hold down on the folder icon and select "Scan for Media" from the popup-menu. metalayer-crawler (or tracker on N900) is just another source used for discovering files.
It's known that metalayer-crawler and tracker often do a shitty job on Maemo, though.
