That's not going to happen.

Why not? I can log into my account now using the mozilla browser. The problem is that the device does not play the stream. Maybe this new software will stream windows media files? Do know for sure that this will not work.

Is OS2008 going to be free for N800 owners? Why would they include the navigation software in the OS if you'd have to have the bluetooth device to make it work?

I'm sure that much like Skype was, the navigation software will be an extra download or left out altogether.
I hope so, I don't need/want it.
Right now I just want to see the frickin' CHANGELOG for OS2008.
Any of you Nokia monkeys out there (and we know you're reading this) want to chime in on that? ANd I don't mean general crap (speed increase, brighter screen, etc.) I want to see EXACTLY what OS2007 bugs you've managed to quash, if any at all.
I know RTcomm (Sofia) still refuses to work over VPN (vpnc GUI) and that's my main gripe right now. It would be nice to work from home and use my N800 as my "work phone" tied in over VPN to my company's Asterisk server instead of going with a software SIPphone. It would also be nice to punch into my Dad's Asterisk server via VPN and call him - for free - just by dialing his extension.
So if that hasn't been fixed or at least workaround/patch available then there's really no need for some of us to upgrade at all.

I want native PPTP VPN support, that's all I need. The only internet devices so far that do this is iPhone and N800 with some kernel hacks. I don't want kernel hacks, so please tell me this is supported in OS2008, please, anyone!?

Yes OS 2008 will be free to N800 owners, but who said the Navigation Software will be part of the firmware?

Assuming the Nav software is made available to N800 owners - which is by no means certain - I would expect it to be offered in the same way as Skype, ie. as a seperate download and not part of the OS 2008 firmware. That way if you don't want the nav software you simply don't install it!

Sorry about my poor response. I think I misunderstood this thread.
I went to http://www.wayfinder.com/?id=5356 and they have this
..."HOW TO BUY! Upgrade to Wayfinder Navigator through the Map application on your Nokia N810. You can also buy an upgrade through this website from October 26th 2007"...
and
Is the wayfinder apps/maps going to be an additional expense? Will the speaker be louder than the N800? It's woefully inadequate for gps use in a car. Is the screen brighter and less reflective? The N800 is almost useless during the day outdoors and completely useless in the car during the day.
It was an upgrade to the Maps package and not the OS. Apologies from here.

I assumed Sirius used some proprietary software. The new IT2008 is supposed to be able to handle WMA... if it will work on the Sirius site... no one knows. Lobby to get the IT team a free account from Sirius and maybe someone might check into it.
