I have recently had my phone replaced by Nokia because of the touch screen fault. I did a full rsync backup before I swapped it out and did a full restore of all user data. I restored from backup and it downloaded and re-installed most of my apps.

I am not sure if the contacts were ever working but I am pretty sure they were. Now when I open contacts I get "(no contacts)" and the spinning disk stays spinning forever. I am happy to delete all contacts and start again as I have them on my exchange server. I have tried backing up and deleting the contents of .osso-abook in the expectation it might create a new, blank database, but this has had no effect. The contacts application itself appears to be broken. Has anyone seen this before and could someone give me some pointers about how to diagnose why it's not working?

I am running PR1.2 with stock kernel but have been dual booting NITDROID, which funnily enough seems to have all my contacts - could be the exchange activesync thing though...
