This is probably the wrong place for this, maybe it should be on the skype forum itself, but is it possible to switch to the main camera during a video call? Obviously it should be downsampled to use less bandwidth / have a higher framerate, but it would be neat to do this.

I'm about to take my daughter to swimming lessons, and her grandparents are going to watch via a skype video call, but of course it's hard to aim the camera when you can't see the screen!

It'd be handy during video recording, too, for vlogs or something.

As of right now, there's this thread if you haven't read it. It seems that there is still no definite solution on it.

Have you tried using Qik or Bambuser?

Qik on the N900 does not have a video call feature. However these two apps allow you to stream it live online.

I haven't found a way to use the back camera for chatting, but these two apps are possible alternatives.

Thanks Xtian! I tried searching these forums and google without much luck. I've not tried those programs yet, and can't find them on maemo.org or the package manager on my N900.

Though now that i think about it i may have been searching for solutions to the quality problem with the webcam haha. I do too many things at once.
