Try your sim card in another phone.
This happened to my wife & it wasn't the phone - it was the sim card.

AT&T is famous for its call dropping feature, thank for telling us by using AT&T Go Phone can solve the problem. ;p
Setiously, I'd also like to know if you got the same problem with other smartphones.
